The Dianne DeVanna Center in Braintree, a Bay State Community Services program, is holding an event on Sept 27th honoring the legacy of Dianne DeVanna. If you lived on the South Shore in 1978 -- her story was that she was brutally murdered by her father and step mother in Braintree and how the Braintree community came together to make sure nothing like this happens again by creating the center.
Bay State Community Services is holding an event honoring her 40 year legacy on Thurs, Sept 27th at Braintree Town Hall and all that the DeVanna Center has done in supporting vulnerable parents and children on the South Shore. Mayor Sullivan is expected to attend and speak as will Jack and Marci Williams (WBZ-TV reporter) who covered the initial story and as a result started Wednesday's Child.
