    Quincy Women’s Network to Host “Position Yourself for Success” Event
    Quincy, MA – The Quincy Women’s Network invites all women interested in entering the workforce or advancing in their careers to their kick off event at 6pm on Thursday, June 8 at the Best Western Adams Inn gazebo, 29 Hancock Street in Quincy. The “Position Yourself for Success” event is an opportunity for guests to network and glean insights on how to reach their career goals.  All proceeds will support The Women’s Network Scholarship Fund at Quincy College.
    “Based on conversations we have had with women in the community, it is apparent that the Quincy Women’s Network can fill a much-needed networking platform that will benefit all women at various levels of their professional careers, and allow them to share their experiences and counsel,” said Tina Cahill, Director of Institutional Advancement at Quincy College and Co-Founding Member of the Quincy Women’s Network. “We look forward to connecting women together at our kick-off event, and at multiple events throughout the year.”
    The evening will feature two speakers from the business community who will share their own experiences and tips for success. Ann M. Meade, Senior Vice President, Webster Bank, will present on how to “Brand Yourself” –  how to market your strengths to advance in your career. Ms. Meade has more than 25 years of experience advising and supporting the growth of New England based companies.
    Sarah Cardozo Duncan, owner, Career Strategist, will challenge guests to define new or existing career paths and utilize networks to reach professional goals. Ms. Cardozo Duncan has more than 20 years of recruitment and career development experience. She has been recognized by Boston Magazine as one of the 100 most powerful women in Boston and received the 2014 Mass AWIS Mentor of Excellence Award.
    The Quincy Women’s Network was established to provide support in the form of networking events, mentoring, and academic opportunities. In addition to Ms. Cahill, co-founding members include Quincy City Councillor-at-large Nina Liang and Melissa Horr Pond, City of Quincy Planning Department. Committee members include: Hillary Birch, 3A Realty Group; Maureen Glynn, Esq., Murphy Donoghue Partners; Emily Hajjar, Massachusetts House of Representatives; Susan Harrington, Quincy Community Action Programs; Courtney Jago, Life Instruments Corp; Kathy Keough, Atrius Health; Deborah LaFavre, Quincy Career Center; and Abby Nguyen-Burke, Eastern Bank.
    "I am fortunate to have had been, and continue to be, mentored by amazing women both in my personal life and as a City Councillor," said Councillor Liang. "It was important for me to bring these women together to strengthen this great network, to highlight the tremendous work and success of women, and to support others in starting or advancing their careers."
    The Quincy Women’s Network is open to all women from any community. Event tickets are $20 per person and be purchased by texting QWN to 41444 or by registering online at
