South Shore Conservatory (SSC) is partnering once again with Barnes & Noble at Derby Street Shoppes in Hingham to host its annual performance marathon, Performathon 2018, from Thursday, April 5 through Sunday, April 8.
More than just a performance, SSC’s Performathon is designed to engage students, parents and faculty in raising money to support SSC’s tuition assistance program. It is an opportunity for students to help other students and work together to ensure that everyone across the South Shore has access to SSC’s exceptional programs. Last April, more than 325 South Shore Conservatory students performed at Barnes & Noble, raising over $21,839 and providing tuition assistance to over 100 families.
Over the four-day period, Performathon participants sign up to play during their teacher’s studio hour. Audience members are welcome to stay for one or more sets in between browsing the aisles of Barnes & Noble. Performances are varied, featuring diverse instruments, age groups, solo and ensemble music.
Barnes & Noble is located at the Derby Street Shoppes at 96 Derby Street in Hingham. For more information on Performathon 2018, email Sarah Troxler firstname.lastname@example.org .
