    Job Description

        The South Shore Young Professionals (SSYP) is a non-profit organization founded in 2008 with the mission to provide information, resources, and opportunities to young professionals and businesses on the South Shore. As an affiliate of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce and a driving force behind positive change, SSYP strives to bring together local businesses with young professionals to revitalize and support the South Shore Community. 
        The Membership and Events Manager role is part time with up to 20 hours per week. He/she will be responsible for all operational aspects of the organization and the specific tasks outlines below:
    Essential Duties/Responsibilities
    (including, but not limited to)
    • Create and maintain all website, event listings and quarterly newsletter communication
    • Track and monitor the success of online initiatives and report them to the board members
    • Manage all SSYP events and work collaboratively with Chamber staff on joint events
    • Set up, register SSYP members and guest and break down events
    • Collect fees from non-members, renewals from lapsed members and work with finance chair member to ensure proper assignment of revenues collected
    • Create and maintain all business cards, event and marketing collateral for the organization
    • Serve as spokesperson for the organization for all events, electric and phone communication
    • Attend monthly board meetings and maintain meeting minutes and task items
    • Work onsite at the Chamber office on a regular schedule
    • Submit hours on a timely basis every two weeks to South Shore Chamber of Commerce Chief Financial Officer for approval
    • Manage the affiliate collaboration between SSYP and the South Shore Chamber​​
    • Work with Committee members to complete tasks
    • Identify new sponsorship potential partners and members
    Job Requirements:
    • Social media, interactive web and public relations skills
    • Knowledge of web platforms such as Word Press, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram
    • Strong knowledge of HTML
    • Strong communication, research, presentation and creative skills
    • Full knowledge of MS Office required
    • Must be creative and think outside the box
