    Job Description
    Position Title:          ReStore Operations Associate                                    
    Reports To:              ReStore Manager

    South Shore Habitat for Humanity (SSHH) is faith-based,  501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to building simple, decent and affordable homes in partnership with families in need. SSHH serves 35 cities and towns south and southwest of Boston.   SSHH involves volunteers at all levels of governance and operations.  The breadth of its program and operations make it a significant construction company, a social service agency, a volunteer management company and a mortgage company. South Shore Habitat for Humanity is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and is located at 20 Mathewson Drive, Weymouth, MA   02189.  
     
    Position Purpose
    This position is responsible for the “back of the house” of ReStore operations, as well as store supervision as needed.
     
    Primary Duties and Responsibilities
    • Fielding calls and emails for ReStore donations
    • Approving incoming product for pick-ups and in-store drop-off
    • Managing the relationship between the ReStore and the outsourcing vendor for product procurement, including reviewing and approving invoices
    • Processing and pricing of inventory and getting items to the sales floor in a timely  manner
     
    Intake Area
    • Maintaining a clean, organized, and easily accessible back room and donation drop off area
    • Ensuring volunteer and staff safety through process and procedure of product intake and on the sales floor
    • Managing trash removal and recycling
    • Coordinate any trailer pickups or drop offs
     
    General Responsibilities
    • Make sure all items are priced before moving to the sales floor
    • Cross trained in store functions, including opening and closing the store if needed
    • Processing and moving product both in the intake area and on the sales floor
    • Help on the truck picking up donations as needed
     
    Requirements
    This individual must understand and appreciate the mission of SSHFH. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.  Knowledge of building materials and furniture a plus. Must be customer service oriented and able to work independently.
     
    Physical demands
    This individual will assist the staff in performing store functions and, therefore, must be able to lift up to 75 pounds (in a “team lift” capacity). Will also experience frequent bending, squatting, lifting and repetitive motion.
     
    Education:
    High School Diploma
    Bachelor’s Degree preferred
     
    Experience:
    2-5 years in a retail operation or related experience required
    Experience in a volunteer, non-profit organization a plus
